Hi all - I'm Katie. I make science-y videos on my channel about new research. I'm working on a video about volumetric displays, like those on mitxela's video Tiny volumetric display. Does anyone know how I could ask if it would be ok to use a clip from the video, so I can show what they look like? I'm actually doing the video about some new research that builds a volumetric display you can interact with with your hands, but I'd like to show what the state of the art looks like. I won't link my channel directly here because I don't want it to look like I'm advertising on your forum, but it's a small channel called I'm Going Somewhere With This. Thanks all! Katie :) ------------- |

It's fine to use a few seconds with a link back to the original. One thing to watch out for is that youtube will automatically flag your video/channel if you use too much, I'm not sure what the threshold is, but hilariously I got flagged for reusing some of my own footage. The appeals process is very tedious and undignified, you have to record a video of yourself explaining why you think there's been a mistake. ------------- |
