I recently finished soldering my precision clock. The problem is though that the time does not dimmer, meanwhile the date does and I have no idea why. If anyone knows why or has an idea on what the problem could be please help me. I also took some picture for demonstation ------------- |

Hi, this is almost certainly a soldering problem on the brightness circuit. The two PNP transistors on the board (labelled 2N5401) are doing the current mirroring, if the legs of one of the transistors are shorted then it will cause half the clock to be at full brightness. Have a look at the soldering around those transistors if you can. I suppose it might be difficult now that the digits are soldered. Do you have access to a heat gun? ------------- |
