@geerlingguy - Thanks so much for the praise/promotion of the clock!

It's no problem at all. This is seriously my favorite piece of hardware this year. Just posted a quick video on my 2nd channel with some hands-on time, as well: Your eyes are too slow for this clock.

Also saw some good discussion on the Hacker News post yesterday. Now I just have to find the right spot in the studio to mount the clock for the majority of the time... I might set up a 'clock wall' with my various timekeeping devices.

Wow - that is the most glowing review I could have hoped for! I also really appreciate making it clear that I'm just one person, I've been a bit worried that too much publicity would give people the impression it's something professionally made, instead of just the work of a hobbyist who got a little obsessed with precision.

I already have 2 of the III and just saw and read this (awesome) post. Looking forward to adding a IV.

Great job (not that you need my praise)! Your projects are always my favorite.

I'm very keen to make this new version. Will the whole project be open source? I'd love to order my own pcb's and components (yes, including the surface mounted ones!). Hopefully the gerbers and a detailed BOM will be shared at some point.

Great project.

Eventually yes, but please be patient. I'm currently a little out of my depth trying to organise the next batch of kits (just had a shipment of 7-segment displays arrive and they have sent the wrong ones, all common anode!) I'm working on it as fast as I can.

There are a lot of subtle problems that can happen when making the PCB, and one thing I really don't want to have to deal with, if I publish the gerbers, is messages from people asking for help because it doesn't work. Especially if those problems are caused by a mistake in the out-of-date BOM or something. I'll put some time in when things have calmed down a little bit.

Absolutely! No problem at all. I totally understand. I'm thrilled to hear that the gerbers/BOM will appear at some point in the future. I'm in no rush and have a bunch of other projects to keep me busy in the meantime.

All the best with your orders and logistics admin. I really appreciate all your efforts and for sharing your awesome project.
