Hello! I know someone has an interest in Linotype machines, so thought I'd post a thread in case anyone else is interested (or knows where more are!) ------------- |

Switzerland - Basel: Basler Papiermühle (Basel Paper Mill). https://www.baslerpapiermuehle.ch/ This is a museum that takes you from paper making to book binding via writing/calligraphy/type casting/printing. It's an old water powered paper mill. I hadn't been expecting to see a Linotype machine there or Monotype, but they have both. They aren't on all the time though. There is apparently a linotype machine at the science museum in Manchester, though I haven't been there and I don't know if they turn it on. ------------- |

Cool, looks like there's some interesting stuff there anyway. I assume the machine at Amberley still works. This will be a few decades ago, but I saw the Linotype and Monotype in action there and was given my name in lead, as cast by both of the machines. ------------- |
