Hello, I discovered this forum while etensively searching for a pen plotter script that doesn't exist apparently. I have made a custom machine to plot 16mm movie film and I have to face it, plotterfun seams to be the closest thing along with blackstripes of what I am looking for. I am not at all a programmer and I begin to understand that when you want to pen plot for real you need to be able to do the algorithm. I though maybe I could find help here... here is a picture of the machine. I still need to make the pen holder. ![]() ![]() ![]() ------------- |

Looks pretty neat, is the plan to plot every frame of a video then? You might have some difficulty plotting details within a 16mm film frame. ------------- |

Cool! Is that existing equipment from a project to advance the film for scanning individual frames, or did you make it just for the plotting project? I don't have any advice for the plotting algorithm, just wanted to say maybe a technical pen like a Rotring Isograph with a fine nib like 0.2mm with waterproof drawing ink could work for drawing on the film (and a pantograph?) Or maybe this is boring, but you could do the plotting with a "normal" pen on larger paper (maybe a roll) and set up a 16mm camera in single frame mode and use it to photograph each frame? ------------- |
