just finished my precision clock, and after powering it on, the display was fine, until I brushed past the power cable. The display turned off, I panicked, until I covered the LDR, at that point the display came on dimly. The display comes on fully every time it is powered on, and turns off every time it is touched even slightly ------------- |

When you say "touched even slightly" is that touching the plastic of the power cable, or touching some of the wires? It is most likely a soldering problem to do with the brightness circuit. Some of it can behave quite strangely when touched with a finger as it the circuit is amplifying a very small current. If you can take some closeup pictures of the board/soldering especially near the two transistors and LDR we might be able to spot something. ------------- |

Forgot about this post sorry, Turned out some pins were resting on a metal plate on the wall behind the clock, I think maybe something was shorting. It worked immediately after turning it on when the metal plate was gone. ------------- |
