I assembled my Precision Clock Mk. IV yesterday, and it was working, but today when I was trying to mount it, I broke off C14. It looks like it's a series capacitor between the external clock and the OSC_IN pin of the micro. I would have expected the external oscillator to be directly connected, so I'm not sure what value it should be. BOM and schematics aren't published yet as far as I've seen. Before I start slapping in random caps from my collection, does anyone know what value it should be? Last edit by duckythescientist at 9 May 2026, 09:58 PM ------------- |

It's a 1nF capacitor, on the BOM the digikey part number was 1292-1380-1-ND but any 1nF should be fine. Its purpose is to remove the DC offset of the sinewave output of the TCXO, which otherwise would swamp the input. ------------- |
